AliExpress To Launch New Collection of NFTs

AliExpress, an e-commerce firm affiliated with Chinese tech giant Alibaba, announced plans to launch a new collection of NFTs very soon.

AliExpress teamed up with The Moment3, a blockchain tech company, to launch a collection of 5,555 NFTs to be on sale on June 25. This project refers to AliExpress’s keenness to solidify its presence in the Web3 space, according to the Bitcoinist website.

“We’re thrilled to announce that The Moment3! is joining forces with AliExpress for Shopping Moment theme! AliExpress, an international marketplace under Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group. This collaboration marks the most monumental step for The Moment3!” The Moment3 tweeted.

AliExpress NFT owners will enjoy benefits more than collectibles from The Moment3. Through the latest partnership, users can now shop Moment themes on AliExpress.

It is not the first time in which AliExpress to join the Web3 space. On May 4, the e-commerce platform cooperated with Shopping.io to allow customers to pay with crypto on AliExpress. This collaboration made it easier for crypto users to pay for their online shopping with various cryptocurrencies. Shopping.io is an online platform where users can shop and pay with cryptocurrencies on top e-commerce stores like eBay and Walmart.

Despite being headquartered in China, Alibaba does not serve the Chinese in Mainland China. It is designated for international customers so that it can accept crypto as a method of payment, although the Chinese authorities impose a ban on cryptocurrency transactions.

Earlier in February, Alibaba launched a tool through which artists can create their images and upload them on a JS site hosted on Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS), in which they can customize their NFTs from a variety of attributes-digital backgrounds, props, clothing, etc, in addition to controlling their level of rarity to make their NFTs unique.
