The world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance launched its first metaverse show, called “Build The Block” through its VC arm, Binance Labs.
In a press release, Binance’s Build The Block is a new global digital series in which Web3 start-ups compete for getting investments from Binance Labs. Build The Block is the first show of its kind and Binance’s first entry into the metaverse.
The global digital series will witness the competition of 12 Web3 startups, which are set to impress a live audience and a panel of judges. The panel of judges includes Co-founder and CMO of Binance and Head of Binance Labs Yi He, Chief business officer of Binance Yibo Ling, Co-founder of Coin Bureau Guy Turner; Azeem Khan, a member of the World Economic Forum’s Crypto Sustainability Coalition and fundraising and partnership lead at Gitcoin; and CEO of Animoca Brands and partner at Animoca Capital Robby Yung.
The first episode will commence on Binance Live and Binance’s official YouTube account at 22:00 (UTC+8) on May 12. It will be hosted by Justin Bratton, host of Asia’s Got Talent.
In this regard, Yi He said: “‘Build The Block’ is Binance’s latest innovative experiment – to create the industry’s first metaverse investment competition. This initiative has attracted a large number of Web3 entrepreneurs and builders to participate and showcase their projects.”
“We hope that such a platform can encourage everyone to innovate further. We believe in the potential of the metaverse and blockchain technology and will continue to empower innovators to create the future of the internet,” he added.
The seven episodes will be live on Tuesday and Friday. The event is organized in partnership with Build Lifeform, a pioneering technology solution provider for web3 virtual human avatars.
