Microsoft Teams up with Aptos Labs To Develop AI-based Blockchain Apps

Microsoft is showing an increased interest in blockchain technology by partnering with Aptos Labs. Together, they plan to create an AI-powered tool called Aptos Assistance to rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

According to a report, an AI tool is being developed to assist developers and users in accessing data and research related to the Aptos ecosystem. Microsoft is a major supporter of OpenAI and has invested heavily in the company to promote ChatGPT and make this technology more widely used.

The tech giant integrated ChatGPT into various products this year, such as its native browser Bing. Currently, the Aptos partnership is exploring the integration of AI, Blockchain, and cloud services hosted by Microsoft’s Azure.

According to a report, Aptos Labs plans to transfer some of its validators to Azure. Additionally, Microsoft has added Move, the programming language for cryptocurrency, to GitHub. The tech company is promoting the use of Move with major financial institutions.

In this regard, General Manager of A.I. and Emerging Technologies at Microsoft Rashmi Misra said: “The intersection of AI and blockchain is one of the most interesting combinations of emerging technologies. By fusing Aptos Labs’ technology with the Microsoft Azure Open AI Service capabilities, we aim to democratize the use of blockchain.”

Co-founder and CEO of Aptos Labs Mo Shaikh noted that the combination of AI and blockchain technologies can work together seamlessly and even reduce the likelihood of sharing incorrect information, adding: “What a blockchain actually provides is real information, verified information (…). We didn’t want to go off onto the side and just hack something together just for the hype of A.I. We wanted that deep integration and co-development.”
