Renault Celebrates 50th Birthday with Launching 2nd NFT Collection
Racing Shoe5 series of Renault
Renault is expected to launch its second NFT collection, named the Racing Shoe5 series in conjunction with the 50th birthday of the iconic French automaker, according to NFT Evening.
Inspired by the iconic R5 Turbo models, the second NFT collection will include 960 NFTs. Each one will have a physical limited-edition sneaker. The digital collectibles will come in five different styles as a kind of attribution to the unique R5 Turbo models. There will be a sixth design, which will be in honor of the R5 Turbo 3E.
The sneakers’ design will showcase the rear slope reminiscent of the car’s chassis, upholstery-inspired interiors, and seatbelt-like laces. Each pair of sneakers, with its NFT, is priced at €265. Also, an NFC chip will be integrated into the shoe’s tongue, which represents a digital passport for the shoe, showing information about the shoe’s composition, a certificate of authenticity, materials, and production history.
The R3NLT web3 community will have priority access to the sneakers and NFTs as they can see the first drop on May 15 and pre-register on the following day. While the public sale of the NFTs for the public will start on May 17 on the Renault NFT website.
In this regard, the project’s team said the new NFT collection creates an innovative way for Renault enthusiasts to engage with the automaker.
“The RACING SHOE5 collection gives Renault enthusiasts an innovative new way to engage with their favorite auto company. Renault’s second NFT drop is a unique opportunity for brand fans to get their hands on an exclusive pair of custom-designed sneakers and enjoy an immersive, 3D experience,” the team noted.
It is worth mentioning that Renault, last December, released its first NFT collection, called genR5, in honor of the Renault 5 model, with 1972 unique NFTs. This number refers to the year when the Renault 5 was out in the market.
