Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo recently underwent a lie detector test where he answered numerous soccer-related questions. He also hinted at his plans to launch NFT collections in the near future.
The lie detector test video was released alongside Ronaldo’s second NFT collection, which was created in collaboration with crypto exchange Binance. This collection was launched in July to commemorate Ronaldo’s achievement as the highest goal scorer in the sport.
The athlete was asked if he had any NFTs, and he confirmed that he did, which was verified by a lie detector test. Similarly, when asked whether he had plans to release more NFTs in the future, Ronaldo answered in the affirmative, and the test results confirmed his honesty.
Ronaldo’s first NFT collection was launched with Binance in 2022 as part of a multi-year partnership with the exchange. The collaboration aims to introduce Web3 to soccer fans worldwide through various NFT campaigns. According to an announcement, the NFTs released by Ronaldo will offer his fans exclusive opportunities to engage with the soccer superstar.
Recently, Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho Gaúcho has been embroiled in a crypto fraud investigation in his home country. According to local media reports on August 27th, Ronaldinho failed to attend a Congressional hearing regarding a pyramid scheme allegedly linked to one of his companies.
However, on August 31st, the soccer star finally appeared before a committee inquiry and denied involvement in the fraudulent scheme that promised a daily return of 2% on crypto investments. A lawsuit has been filed against the company seeking damages of $61 million, but Ronaldinho has denied any partnership with them. He claims that the company used his images without authorization and that he was also a victim of the scam.
