Iconic rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., known as Snoop Dogg, announced that his fans would be able to follow his tours virtually through an NFT project, in a move that solidifies his presence in the Web3 world.
The well-known rapper revealed the Snoop Dogg Passport Series, an NFT project that gives access to its holders to follow up on photos and behind-the-scenes videos of Snoop Dogg while being on tour besides other benefits. The holders of these NFT passes will be eligible for future releases like artwork and merchandise, according to Cointelegraph.
The rapper noted that he is keen on pushing things forward, believing that this project is a leap toward the future of digital fan engagement, adding: “I’ve always been a pioneer, and digital merch is part of the future. I’m hoping other artists can see what I’m doing and continue to innovate on their own.”
This project had been developed in cooperation with Transient Labs, a premier innovation platform for web3 creators, projects, and ecosystems around the world.
In this regard, Transient Labs Chief Operating Officer Chris Ostoich expressed his excitement over the cooperation with Snoop Dogg, saying the project leverages blockchain technology to offer unique experiences.
Snoop Dogg has been known for actively participating in different Web3 initiatives. He was revealed as one of the co-founders of a Web3-powered live-streaming app, called Shiller. It is a live broadcast platform for creators that combines real-time live-streaming content with Web3 technology.
In April 2022, he teamed up with Sandbox Metaverse and launched an NFT collection, titled “Snoop Avatars,” followed by his NFT collection “A Hard Working Man” (AHWM).
He also collaborated with Yuga Labs to perform on a metaverse-based stage at MTV’s Video Music Awards on August 29. He also allegedly reported that he had donated 22 NFTs to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the first and biggest art collection minted on blockchain to enter an American art museum.
