On Saturday, a celebrity soccer match was held at London’s historic Stamford Bridge stadium. This event provided an exceptional opportunity for fans to support a worthy cause while also enjoying an exciting soccer exhibition.
The match was hosted by Ukrainian soccer greats Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko and featured a lineup of both current and former players. The game witnessed the participation of renowned figures from Chelsea and AC Milan.
Thanks to a collaboration between Improbable, a metaverse technology startup, and Global Fan Network, attendees experienceed the immersive digital watch party. This event allowed fans who can’t make it to the match in person join the excitement from the convenience of their homes.
The charity event Game4Ukraine has set a goal to raise at least £1 million through a charity match and other fundraising initiatives. To boost these efforts, attendees have the opportunity to purchase customizable jersey NFT artwork through the event’s NFT partner, Cheeer. This innovative approach, combining sports, technology, and philanthropy, highlights the importance of collaboration and creativity in tackling important societal issues.
Participants had the opportunity to engage in quizzes and games to elevate their involvement in the virtual event. The CEO of Global Fan Network, Robbie Lyle, will serve as the host, offering informative match commentary, conducting interviews with players, and engaging with celebrity guests.
Herman Narula, co-founder and CEO of Improbable, showed great excitement for the project and highlighted the company’s dedication to providing authentic fan-player interaction. The utilization of advanced technology allows fans worldwide to feel more connected to the action and also supports a noble cause.
