<p>German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz collaborated with Nvidia technologies to support the vehicle manufacturing process and test it in the metaverse.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz will use Nvidia’s Omniverse platform and digital twin capabilities to design and plan manufacturing and assembly facilities. The German automobile maker works with Nvidia to develop software-defined vehicles.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Therefore the coming vehicles, which are supposed to be electric, will be built on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin centralized compute, with intelligent driving capabilities tested and validated in the NVIDIA DRIVE Sim platform, built on Omniverse, <a href="https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2023/01/03/mercedes-benz-next-gen-factories-omniverse/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to a blog published by Nvidia</a>.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Omniverse is an open 3D development platform enabling companies and institutions across all industries to build and operate digital twins for industrial and scientific use cases. It’s based on&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/omniverse/usd/" rel="noreferrer noopener">Universal Scene Description (USD)</a>, allowing enterprises and developers to construct custom 3D pipelines to break down data silos and interact with a single-source-of-truth view of their aggregated simulations.</p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz will start its production process in the virtual space for electric vehicles at its plant in Rastatt, Germany, which currently manufactures Mercedes A- and B-Class in addition to the compact SUV GLA and the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQA.</p>



<p>Using Omniverse, Mercedes-Benz designers will promote the optimization of the Rastatt plant without disrupting real-world daily operations. Nvidia said that they could evaluate and validate every change in the virtual world and then implement it in the real world to achieve maximum efficiency for the plant&#8217;s workers.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The American technology company said through this step, Mercedes will reduce waste, decrease energy consumption and enhance quality continuously.</p>



<p>Through this collaboration, Mercedes-Benz will be one of the early adaptors of the latest release of Omniverse Enterprise, which was launched this week.&nbsp;</p>

Mercedes-Benz Uses Nvidia’s Metaverse to Boost Automobile Manufacturing


<p>The Indian major car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, announced launching its second metaverse platform following the NEXAVerse, which was introduced earlier this year.</p>



<p>Dubbed &#8220;ARENAVerse,&#8221; the new metaverse platform will let its users immersively interact with their preferable Maruti Suzuki vehicles in a virtual experience for Maruti’s Arena showroom network. The users will digitally interact with sales representatives and select their cars as they need in ARENAVerse.</p>



<p>Maruti Suzuki said its second metaverse platform comes as a part of its keenness to attract new generations of consumers in a captivating retail experience, <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/auto/car-news/maruti-suzuki-launches-arenaverse-its-second-metaverse-platform/2932678/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to Financial Express</a>.</p>

<p>Users can enter Maruti Suzuki&#8217;s new metaverse platform from the ARENAVerse web version using their browsers given that the Indian car maker equipped over 700 Maruti Suzuki ARENA main outlets across India with Virtual Reality (VR) devices for customers to enjoy the new experience.</p>



<p>In this regard, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing &amp; Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Shashank Srivastava said his company is committed to enhancing its metaverse-based experiences to fulfill the needs of new-age customers, pointing out that Maruti Suzuki received more than 10,000 bookings for its car Grand Vitara from the NEXAVerse.</p>



<p>&#8220;There is immense potential in the global online ecosystem of metaverse that provides companies with the platform to grow without geographical boundaries and time zones. This presents huge opportunities for us at MSIL [Maruti Suzuki India] to touch our most remote customers by integrating our technological innovation with our vast network across India. We are very excited about what the meta-universe has in store for us and how we navigate through it to bring the best of experiences for our customers,&#8221; Srivastava added.</p>



<p>In July, Suzuki Maruti launched its first metaverse platform, NEXAVerse, in which consumers can virtually tour its virtual showrooms under its premium retailing brand Nexa. It is worth noting that Suzuki Maruti is the second Indian automaker to launch metaverse experiences following Mahindra.</p>

Maruti Suzuki Launches 2nd Metaverse Platform in India


<p>German sports luxury car manufacturer Porsche solidifies its presence in the Web 3.0 arena by launching an NFT collection revolving around the famous Porsche 911 model.</p>



<p>The NFT collection, designed by designer and 3D artist Patrick Vogel, will consist of 7,500 unique digital collector’s items. They are set to be available in January 2023. Users can register in advance on an Allowlist. Each user can purchase only three NFTs at most, the German manufacturer said in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The company hinted at the project at the Art Basel conference in Miami on November 30. Porsche&#8217;s move comes within a framework of its keenness to strengthen its position as an iconic brand and transfer the immersive appeal of its sports cars to desirable gems in the digital world.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It said in a statement: &#8220;Digital art is just one aspect of Porsche’s Web3 strategy. The sports car manufacturer is working to integrate the potential of blockchain technology into existing and future processes and solutions. &#8221;&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>BMW&#8217;s Accession To Metaverse</strong></p>



<p>German sports car manufacturer BMW applied to trademark its logo for a group of WEB 3.0 products and services, United States Patent and Trademark Office&#8217;s licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis was quoted by <a href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/nifty-news-porsche-911-nfts-bmw-files-web3-trademarks-baby-shark-s-nft-game-and-more" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coin Telegraph</a> as saying.&nbsp;</p>



<p>According to the application, BMW intends to use its logo on collectibles like virtual vehicles, clothing, headwear, and footwear, with plans for downloadable virtual goods such as online environments and games.</p>



<p><strong>Fiat Enters The Metaverse</strong></p>



<p>Italian car manufacturer FIAT launched an interactive showroom in the metaverse, called <a href="https://www.fiat.it/fiat/virtual-store" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FIAT Metaverse Store</a>. Launched in Italy, the FIAT Metaverse Store has a real FIAT expert – FIAT Product Genius &#8211; ready to answer any question.</p>
