The Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) is coming back with a new edition in 2023 on Decentraland, the world&#8217;s largest user-owned and operated virtual social world.



The new edition themed &#8220;Future Heritage&#8221; will be held in the Luxury Fashion District of Decentraland from March 28 to 31. MVFW23 will feature the Spring/Summer Fashion season on virtual catwalks. In addition, a special experience developed by Miami Fashion Week will take part in the event.



Curated by NFT marketplace UNXD, MVFW23 participants will be selected by an advisory team formed by Decentraland. The advisory team includes experts from digital fashion house The Fabricant, Institute of Digital Fashion, Fashion3 by MAD Global, and House of Web3. The participating brands will be announced in January.



DCL influencer Tangpoko will be the main model of MVFW this season, <a href="https://www.voguebusiness.com/technology/metaverse-fashion-week-to-return-next-year" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to The Vogue.</a>



In this regard, Head of Metaverse Fashion Week Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro expressed his excitement about holding the second edition of the Metaverse Fashion Week to show the audience how things had been developed from the first edition, <a href="https://wwd.com/fashion-news/fashion-features/metaverse-fashion-week-returns-march-28-1235438303/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Women&#8217;s Wear Daily reported</a>.



&#8220;Within one year, we have shown the world one of the strongest and most obvious use cases for the metaverse yet — digital fashion,&#8221; Casimiro said.



Meantime, Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of UNXD Shashi Menon described the event as a tentpole moment in the field of digital fashion as it brings fashion brands and consumers together to see the future of fashion, adding MVFW is a part of UNXD&#8217;s mission to bridge luxury between the real world and digital space.



Menon added he is delighted to cooperate with Decentraland for the second time after a successful first season.



It is worth mentioning that the first edition of the Metaverse Fashion Week was held in March 2022 with the participation of many renowned companies, including Dolce&amp;Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Roberto Cavalli, Paco Rabanne, and Selfridges.

Metaverse Fashion Week Back on Decentraland in March 2023

Famous American fashion brands head for the metaverse to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).



CFDA will launch its first-its-kind digital exhibition in the virtual space in The Sandbox metaverse, a leading decentralized metaverse and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, <a href="https://dailycoin.com/cfda-makes-web-3-0-debut-celebrates-60th-anniversary-in-the-sandbox/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to Daily Coin</a>.



Titled “Fashioning the Shades of American Design,” CFDA&#8217;s virtual exhibition will feature 60 American fashion looks from the past 60 years, selected by fashion historian and Cleveland Museum of Art assistant curator of fashion Darnell-Jamal Lisby. It will take place on December 19.



The American fashion association collaborated with seven fashion brands to mint seven 1/1 NFTs. These brands are Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Willy Chavarria, Vivienne Tam, and von Furstenberg. The NFT collection, titled &#8220;Lighting the Path of American Fashion will be released on December 12.



The NFTs, whose bids start from $25,000 for auction, vary between shirts, gowns, dresses, and suits.



In this regard, CEO of the CFDA Steven Kolb said the association is keen on educating and empowering the business community centered around the influence of American fashion through working with The Sandbox and Polygon Studios.



Meanwhile, Co-Founder and COO of The Sandbox Arthur Madrid shared, “The CFDA is the foremost authority in American Fashion, and we are honored to be partnering with them on their foray into the metaverse. We believe the metaverse is the new frontier of expression, where avatars will be an extension of our digital identity. We are excited to offer new creative tools for fashion designers to create NFT collections with digital ownership and scarcity that will be playable in the metaverse!&#8221;



Meantime, CEO of Polygon Studios Ryan highlighted the CFDA&#8217;s transition to the virtual space to take a step toward the future of American fashion and culture, expressing his pride that Polygon take part in this transition.



CFDA attempts to make use of the event by attracting the coming generation of fashion enthusiasts to the metaverse to expand the fashion trend to the digital world.

American Fashion Brands Join Metaverse, Launch NFTs This Month

Space6 is being operated using Spatial.io, which is accessible via a web link or by downloading the Spatial.io app on smartphones by anyone anywhere.



In a statement, Apparel said: &#8220;Today, the Metaverse is predicted to change shopping experiences in the retail sector for both customers and brands. 6thStreet.com has always been at the forefront of digital e-commerce transformation in the GCC region.&#8221;



It pointed out that the launch of its first virtual store is just the beginning of many futuristic initiatives, which 6thStreet.com plans to debut.



Running till November 30, Space6 showcases the latest trends in fashion and collectibles from more than 1,200 international brands in five shoppable rooms, in addition to letting the users enjoy their time at a cinema and a lounge area, along with a designated section for Super Friday offers and discounts and 25 distinguished NFTs for blogger Zainab Al Alwan.

6th Street.com Launches 1st Metaverse-Based Store in GCC

Gucci announced its first event in the metaverse on The Sandbox, the digital real estate platform, which kicked off on October 27 till November 9.&nbsp;



Under the name of Gucci Vault Land, Gucci became the first luxury fashion brand to have its own space on The Sandbox, cementing its footprints in the metaverse.&nbsp;



The Gucci Vault Land is free for all users, where they can have fun, play, and earn blockchain-based tokens or rewards after completing specific activities. Users will receive one Gucci Vault Box for completing a task and receive five Gucci Vault Boxes as a bonus for finishing all the tasks.&nbsp;



The users will enter a green space called &#8220;Garden of Curiosities&#8221; which will be a home for Gucci NFTs. The fashion brand&#8217;s vintage pieces are being displayed, but they are not for sale. It has an educational game space about the brand&#8217;s products and heritage.&nbsp;



Gucci also designed non-playable characters (NPCs) in its metaverse who are ready to help players during completing their activities.



In February, Gucci purchased digital real estate on The Sandbox.



The fashion brand aims to showcase its legacy using Web 3.0 technology for users by introducing the Vault Land&#8217;s features in addition to attracting non-native users who are new to the metaverse experiences to simply access them.&nbsp;



It is not the first time Gucci to join the metaverse. In May 2021, it launched the Gucci Garden in Roblox, the same month during which the Italian brand turned the Aria fashion collection into an NFT video sold for $25,000 at Christie’s auction house, making it the first luxury brand to launch an NFT.&nbsp;



In February 2022, it launched 1,000 NFTs in collaboration with the toy brand Superplastic.&nbsp;



Commenting on metaverse and NFTs, CEO Marco Bizzarri&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.voguebusiness.com/technology/gucci-ceo-bizzarri-talks-metaverse-strategy-and-why-its-already-a-very-real-place-for-us" rel="noreferrer noopener">told Vogue Business</a>&nbsp;in March that &#8220;Gucci is not afraid to be a first mover in many areas and will continue to adopt this mindset and challenge the status quo.” Gucci’s strategy was not — and still isn’t — about playing it safe.&#8221;
