Recent updates to official filings reveal that a considerable sum of $2.8 million worth of cryptocurrency is registered under the ownership of a former US President, Donald Trump.



The amount in question appears to be significantly greater than the previously disclosed figures from earlier this month.



In the filing made with the Office of Government Ethics, entry 24 under Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Employment Assets and Income and Retirement Accounts&#8221; details a range of items linked to cryptocurrency and <a href="https://upyo.com/en/news/tags/trump-nfts">NFTs</a>.

The entry, &#8220;CIC Digital LLC (License fees for NFTs),&#8221; is divided into three sections. One of these sections pertains to his Ethereum cryptocurrency wallet, which held $2,806,341 in assets at the time of disclosure.



Another section, &#8220;License agreement with NFT INT, LLC,&#8221; concerns Trump&#8217;s earnings from a non-fungible token (NFT) collection he launched as part of his re-election campaign to return to the White House in 2024. This section amounts to $4,866,832.



The collection&#8217;s initial release proved successful, showing a surge in sales after the first indictment against Trump in early April. However, the subsequent launch of a second batch of NFTs on Polygon later that month resulted in a crash of the collection.



It is worth mentioning that Trump in 2019 tweeted: “I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated crypto assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity.”



Melania Trump, the wife of former President Trump, was reportedly involved in creating and selling NFTs. Specifically, she converted a number of famous images related to the Apollo lunar landings in the 1960s and 1970s into NFTs and sold them for $75 each. However, NASA officials were not pleased with this development, as they felt it violated their rules about using their images for commercial purposes like NFTs.

WatcherGuru, a well-known platform for financial and cryptocurrency information, recently reported that former US President Donald Trump owns Ethereum worth $250,000. This information comes amid the court&#8217;s ongoing investigation into the former president&#8217;s financial records.



According to Trump&#8217;s disclosure, an asset listed as a &#8220;cryptocurrency wallet (Ethereum)&#8221; seems to be linked to a group of NFTs which he publicized after he departed from the White House, Forbes reported.



In December 2022, an announcement was made that a &#8220;limited edition collection&#8221; of 44,000 <a href="https://upyo.com/en/news/tags/trump-nfts" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFTs</a> would be released. These NFTs featured cartoon-like trading cards of Trump in different outfits, including hunters&#8217; camouflage, a welders&#8217; suit, and a superhero costume. The cards were sold for $99 each and sold out within a day. A second batch was released in April, which also sold out.



It is estimated that the sales raised over $8.9 million, with the former president receiving $298,000 in licensing fees through his wallet held under the Trump entity, CIC Digital.

Despite being accused of 34 felony charges and achieving modest profits, former US President Donald Trump&#8217;s enthusiasm did not get low.&nbsp;



Trump announced the release of a second series (Series 2) of his NFT collection, Trump Digital Trading Cards. The former US president announced the news on his social platform Truth Social, claiming that his first drop of NFTs had achieved great success, therefore he expanded for a second mint, <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/web3/2023/04/18/trump-drops-second-series-of-digital-trading-card-collection/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to Coin Desk</a>. 



&#8220;I am pleased to inform you that, due to the great success of my previously launched DIGITAL TRADING CARDS, we are doing it again, SERIES 2, AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW. Trump&#8217;s Series 2 consists of 47,000 digital collectibles minted on the Polygon blockchain, an Ethereum sidechain network, with a mint price of $99, a price similar to the first drop in December 2022. The new collection differs from the first one in the art, rarity traits, and utility features.&nbsp;



&#8220;I could have raised the price MUCH HIGHER, I believe it still would have sold well, with a lot more money coming to me, but I didn’t choose to do so. I WILL BE GIVEN NO ‘NICE GUY’ CREDIT?&#8221; Trump added.&nbsp;



Upon the news of the upcoming collection, the floor price of the original collection on&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://opensea.io/collection/trump-digital-trading-cards/analytics" rel="noreferrer noopener">the secondary market OpenSea&nbsp;</a>fell from nearly 0.4 ETH, or $834.62 to 0.187 ETH, or $390.18 – losing half of its value.

Former US President Donald Trump earned between $100,001 to $1 million from his NFT collection, a filing issued by the US Office of Government Ethics revealed.&nbsp;



The filing showed that Trump was the manager, treasurer, president, and secretary of CIC Digital LLC since March 2022. CIC Digital LLC gave NFT INT LLC a license to use the former president&#8217;s name and images to release the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://collecttrumpcards.com/" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trump Digital Trading Cards</a>.&nbsp;



Surprisingly, Trump earned less than $201 only from the Trump Media &amp; Technology Group — the company behind Truth Social, according to Bein Crypto website.&nbsp;



Trump&#8217;s NFT collection, released in mid-December, consists of 45,000 digital collectibles portraying him in various positions and situations. The crypto community strongly interacted with the NFT collection as its floor price reached its peak of 0.675 ETH in February.&nbsp;



The total trade volume of the Trump Digital Trading Cards recorded more than $19 million, a matter which reflects the level of interest it generated within the community.



The NFT buyers could be awarded a dinner banquet with Trump if they purchased 45 NFTs at once worth $4,445, <a href="https://beincrypto.com/trump-made-1m-from-nfts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to Coin Desk</a>. 



According to the collection website, each Trump Digital Trading Card has a unique pre-assigned rarity as some will be one-of-one, while others will be limited to 2, 5, 7, or 10 copies. It stressed that no card would have more than 20 copies in existence.&nbsp;



Any customer, who purchases one of the digital trading cards, will be automatically directed to “sweepstakes” that could include a Zoom call with Trump, a cocktail hour at Mar-a-Lago, or a dinner in Miami.&nbsp;



Earlier, the website which made the collection said that the NFTs &#8220;are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign.&#8221;



Currently, Trump faces 34 felony counts in New York for falsifying business records in addition to several investigations of his actions during his time as president.
