Reem Al-Rawi, a well-known NFT artist, affirmed that Arab NFT platforms should educate artists to encourage them to join the NFT space and hold digital collectibles to increase demand for their digital artworks.



Speaking to UPYO in a podcast, Rawi pointed to increasing awareness and easy access to information related to digital art, noting that traditional artists started the conversion of their artworks into digital art.



The NFT world is new for Arab artists, she underlined, believing the necessity of their participation to enhance their footprint in this field. According to her, the spread of Arab NFTs could impact the global NFT industry. According to her, there is a thirst in the digital market for a new art expression unlike what is popular and Arab art has the opportunity for setting up a broad audience.



The NFT artist pointed out Arab NFT platforms suffer from a lack of knowledge of the basics of holding NFTs and how to benefit from them, adding that Arab artist is afraid of entering the world because of a lack of attention to this domain in the Arab world.



Rawi affirmed that Arab NFT platforms should educate artists to encourage them to join the NFT space and hold digital collectibles to increase demand for their digital artworks.

She described UPYO&#8217;s cancelation of fees on trading NFTs as so tempting, saying UPYO is a very good example of offering simple and easy procedures for NFT buyers and sellers. She also affirmed the importance of educating the artists, a matter which UPYO does already. According to her, Arab governments should invest in the blockchain and NFTs, as it encourages research and understanding.



She pointed to her participation in the MENA exhibition in Bahrain after releasing her first NFT, King Meso, followed by Queen of Meso, which is available on UPYO&#8217;s NFT marketplace.



She also said that the future of NFTs in the Arab world is in progress and more knowledge is gained by people and institutions, especially the younger generation, who is more enthusiastic to invest in this field.



Arab NFT artists should express their beliefs and experience in their digital artworks, she noted, urging them to show their identities through the NFTs as art is an ambassador for the Arab identity.



Rawi is a Canadian artist and university professor of Iraqi origins. Her artwork mixes traditional with digital heritage inspired by Arabic heritage. She released her first NFT collection in 2022 and participated in several galleries worldwide, including two virtual ones.

NFT Artist: UPYO’s Cancelation of Fees on NFTs Trading Tempting

Leading international fashion house Louis Vuitton teamed up with Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama to release a set of 10,000 NFTs in conjunction with its 200th anniversary.



Following the success of its first NFT game a few months ago, Louis Vuitton, this time, seeks to celebrate its 200th anniversary by selling NFTs to allow its consumers to easily exchange them for tangible copies, according to NFT Evening.



The pioneering fashion house targets making income from selling these NFTs on the marketplace of Opensea by charging customers a 7% royalty. Experts predict that the NFT collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the 93-year-old artist will cost 4 ETH based on the costs of other luxury companies’ NFTs. This is the second collaboration between the company and Yayoi Kusama after 10 years after their first partnership in 2012.



NFT Lately reported that Yayoi Kusama is widely known for her Infinity Rooms and her signature polka-dotted pumpkin, which have made her the most famous artist in the world. Her influence is increasing thanks to social media and the fact that she is known on many different platforms.



It is worth mentioning that the NFT game, known as Louis: The Game, which was introduced in August 2021, has been downloaded more than two million times. The company aimed to educate players on the brand’s 200-year history. Players are getting awarded randomly free NFTs rather than an auction or priced sale.

Louis Vuitton Cooperates with Japanese Artist to Release 10K NFTs

Manal Mohamed, a Syrian artist, and calligrapher, started her journey in the NFT world in 2022 from traditional art to digital one and published her artworks on the NFT marketplaces of OpenSea and UPYO.



In an interview with her via podcast, Mohamed hailed UPYO&#8217;s idea of launching a series of podcasts, which gives an opportunity for all NFT artists to introduce themselves and their digital art.



After hearing about the NFTs in late 2022, she began to transform her traditional art into NFTs and educated herself on digital art. Then she began to release digital collectibles on UPYO and OpenSea.



Regarding the Arab NFT industry, Mohamed said that the industry in the Arab world is still in the building phase, saying many people still do not believe in the power of cryptocurrencies and NFTs but there are some Arabs who began to make a profit from them. She pointed out that it is a matter of time to gain wide popularity, adding Arab NFT projects could lure foreign investors in the future.



Asking her about advice she could give to other artists who are hesitating to enter the NFT world, the Kuwait-based artist asserted the importance of getting educated about this field and asking those who entered this world before to benefit from their expertise.

As for factors that attract investors to invest in Arab NFTs, she affirmed that steps are being currently taken in this regard like sharing information through Twitter spaces like what UPYO does, which raises awareness about this field among people.



She rolled out holding big NFT galleries like what Orlando Museum of Art announced about showcasing some NFTs for the first time, expecting the Arab world is now witnessing simple NFT galleries and it needs time to achieve progress.



UPYO is one of the first Arab platforms in the NFT, which will one of the founders of the world of NFTs in the Arab region.

Arab Artist Urges To Share Information about NFTs

Among the most significant names that broke into the Arab digital market is the renowned British artist Amrita Sethi. In the following lines, we will review Sethi&#8217;s story of success in the Arab digital market.&nbsp;



Who Is Amrita Sethi?&nbsp;



Sethi is a British citizen of Indian origin. Born and raised in Kenya, she lived in Switzerland, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and the UK before settling in Dubai in 2007.



She received a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in economics from the University of Manchester in 2002 and a master&#8217;s degree in development economics from the same university in 2003.&nbsp;



She obtained a Certificate for Financial Advisers (CeFA), Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from The London Institute of Banking &amp; FinanceThe London Institute of Banking &amp; Finance in 2006.&nbsp;



Sethi also received a certificate in digital from the University of the Arts in London in 2018.&nbsp;



Her Career



Sethi started her career by working in the field of economics and assumed positions at global banks and financial services companies, such as HSBC, Barclays, Zurich Insurance, and others.&nbsp;



She left this domain after working in it for more than 15 years then she started her artistic career. Her decision did not come in a vacuum, but she had a passion for art since she was young.&nbsp;



In an interview with Forbes Magazine, she said that she was into art since childhood but she fell madly in love with economics and when she achieved great success in economics, she wanted to do the same thing in art.&nbsp;



Voice Note Art



After she broke into the art domain, Sethi quickly made a name for herself by embracing a multimedia art form, known as Voice Note Art or SoundBYTE.&nbsp;



Sethi first records a voice note, for example, a city/ person/ feeling, etc, and captures the fluid shape and structure of the sound wave. Then she draws each vertical line into individual images that encapsulates the beauty, spirit, and essence of that voice note. When it&#8217;s complete, it magically combines the artwork with the shape of the sound to create new SoundBYTE art.



In 2018, she recorded her voice, saying Dubai, and drew the soundwave, showcasing the emirate&#8217;s skyscrapers and landmarks.&nbsp;



She is keen to draw cities and landmarks in this way as well as the crucial moments in people&#8217;s lives. She told CNN that she wanted to capture the human awareness and emotion that comes from hearing a word or phrase and then present it in a more abstract form.



Such art dominated people&#8217;s imagination, especially in Dubai, where she lives. Within a few months after abandoning economics, Sethi won the Best Outstanding Award at World Art Dubai in 2019.&nbsp;



Since then, she has created paintings based on the art of voice notes for a range of clients, including celebrities and world leaders, such as Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.&nbsp;

Her Accession to NFTs&nbsp;



Sethi was keen on joining the NFT world in the early stage as she became the first NFT artist in the UAE. She combined the voice note art with the NFTs, a matter which pushed media outlets like CNN and Forbes to shed light on this new type of art.&nbsp;



She achieved a wide reputation in the NFT world. She obtained the Golden visa in Dubai in recognition of her contributions to the digital art market in the UAE.&nbsp;



She draw the World&#8217;s 1st Augmented Reality (AR) NFT mural at the Dubai International Financial Centre. Sales of Sethi&#8217;s NFTs reached about half a million dollars at the time of writing.&nbsp;



Her Most Significant NFTs



Sethi launched NFT collectibles on various marketplaces, which mainly depended on voice note art. Among these most remarkable NFTs is her first 3D waveform Voice Note Art concept, “What The NFT?!” (WTNFT?!), which was sold for $102,000.&nbsp;



She launched the Places NFT collection, which includes a group of drawings, through which many places and cities around the world were embodied, such as Dubai, New York, London, Paris, and others.

Sethi succeeded in using technology in achieving a boom from the physical world to the digital world through the NFTs. She believes that this promising phenomenon will make people understand the digital market more in general.&nbsp;



She sees that NFTs are a good way to introduce coding and blockchain technologies. Although some experts predict that the current popularity of NFTs is a short-lived bubble, Sethi believes that they have the potential to revolutionize the art world.

The Arab Gulf region is witnessing a new wave of art, called the non-fungible tokens (NFTs). A large number of artists in the gulf region, especially in the UAE and Saudi Arabia started to join digital art and among those who joined the world of digital assets was Ahaad Alamoudi.&nbsp;



Who Is Ahaad Alamoudi?&nbsp;



Alamoudi, a Saudi artist, was born in 1991 in Jeddah. Her life was between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. She received a bachelor&#8217;s degree in visual communication from Dar Al-Hekma University in 2014 and a master&#8217;s degree in print from the Royal College of Art in London in 2017.



Her Artistic Career



Alamoudi inherited her love of art from her mother. Her artworks are mainly based on photography, video, and print. Through her artworks, Alamoudi tries to modernize the historic image of Saudi Arabia through her research on Saudi reforming ethnography. Her artworks were displayed at several exhibitions around the world.&nbsp;



How Did Alamoudi Enter The NFT World?&nbsp;



When the NFTs appeared, Alamoudi thought at the beginning that she won&#8217;t be a part of this industry. Later, she realized the importance of this field for the future of art and getting familiar with it.&nbsp;



She saw that the NFTs put the artist in the first place. They make him the sole controller of his work and provide the element of transparency that art needs.

Her Participation in Bawa Exhibition



Alamoudi takes part in Bawa, a contemporary art gallery online for Khaleeji artists. At this gallery, she presents footages and images for herself as NFTs.&nbsp;



Movement is the main element in these digital collectibles as an indication of the radical conditions and the transformation that the Gulf region and Saudi Arabia, in particular, have witnessed during the past few years.&nbsp;

Ahaad Alamoudi… Saudi Artist Documents Radical Change in Her Country

Over the past period, several Arab artists turned their artworks into NFTs. One of the most female artists, who realized the importance of turning her artworks into NFTs is the Omani artist Mayis Almoosawi.&nbsp;



Who Is Mayis Almoosawi?&nbsp;



Almoosawi, a visual artist, was born in Oman in 1994. Being passionate about art since her childhood, she wanted to be a well-known artist. She graduated from Coventry University in the UK with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in illustration.&nbsp;



She realized that art is a way to reveal the artist&#8217;s unknown story and express his feelings to help others that they are not alone.&nbsp;

Mayis Almoosawi Made Use of NFTs To Express Women’s Feelings

Several Arab artists begin to realize the importance of digital assets by turning their artworks into NFTs. Among the most prominent artists, who utilized NFTs is the Canadian-Algerian artist Amelia Hadouchi.&nbsp;



Who Is Amelia Hadouchi?&nbsp;



Hadouchi is a Canadian artist of Algerian origin. Born in 1992 in Montreal, Hadouchi entered the art world at a young age, starting to attend painting workshops when she was nine, and hasn&#8217;t stopped since.



She studied international business and languages at Dawson College in Canada then interior design. While sharing her artistic works on social media, a gallery in Miami invited her to attend the 2016 Art Basel.&nbsp;



After her success in Basel, Hadouchi took part in several art exhibitions around the world and cooperated with renowned brands and companies like Volvo, Marc Jacobs, New Balance, and Mercedes.&nbsp;



She is keen on participating in charity. In November 2018, she lectured a three-day workshop for cancer patients at the Gilda&#8217;s Club Greater Toronto and also donated many of her artworks to charitable organizations.



Nature of Her Artworks&nbsp;



Several factors impact Hadouchi&#8217;s artworks. She believes that traveling is part and parcel of her artistic development and that nature is her main source of aspiration.&nbsp;



The colors, vibrations, and nature of the places she visits remain in her mind and presents them in her work. In addition to nature, she finds inspiration in positivity, luxury, space, and minerals.

Zada utilized the NFTs to explain Arab sayings and proverbs to get people familiarized with them. She launched her NFT collection named &#8220;Visualizing Arabic Sayings.&#8221; This collection included a number of animated videos, in which many Arab proverbs were explained.&nbsp;

Marah Zada.. This is how NFTs Could Be Utilized in Favor of Palestinian Cause

The past period witnessed the joining of Arab artists to the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) field in conjunction with its prosperity over the past two years. Among these artists is the Kuwaiti plastic artist Shurooq Amin. She was selected as one of the inspiring figures in Kuwait.&nbsp;



In the coming line, we will review details of Amin&#8217;s journey to be one of the famous NFT figures.&nbsp;



Amin&#8217;s Birth&nbsp;



Amin was born to a Kuwaiti father and a Syrian mother in 1967. She graduated from Kuwait University with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in English literature. She received a master&#8217;s degree in literature from the University of Kent in 1989, then a Ph.D. in creative writing from Warrenburg College in 2007.&nbsp;



Throughout her educational career, she was keen on integrating plastic art with poetry to fulfill her childhood dream, which is to become a plastic artist.&nbsp;



A 30-Year-Old Artistic Career&nbsp;



Amin started her career in plastic art 30 years ago as she organized her first individual exhibition in 1992. She presented several paintings, in which she addressed topics related to sex, violence, religious and social hypocrisy, theft, and betrayal.&nbsp;



She was subjected to harassment in her country because of the topics she expressed in her drawings as several exhibitions of her were closed. As a result, she showcased her paintings in the UAE, Italy, France, Britain, and the United States.&nbsp;



She received many local and international titles, the most important of which was the title of artist of the year by the Arab Women Awards in 2013. She was also chosen as one of Kuwait&#8217;s 46 Inspirational People in Sheikha Intisar Al-Sabah&#8217;s book The Alchemy of Wisdom.&nbsp;



Amin is the first Kuwaiti female artist to be auctioned at Christie’s auction house. She was a guest on the popular BBC program HARDTalk, which hosts heads of state and inspiring figures.

Entering NFT World



Amin decided to enter the NFT world almost two years ago, especially during the COVID-19 period. While all stayed at home, she searched for a way to showcase her artworks remotely, so she discovered the NFTs.&nbsp;



She saw in this technology to overcome restrictions imposed by the pandemic on one hand and express her art freely without any harassment or restrictions on the other hand. As she is a plastic artist, she turned a number of drawings into NFTs and offered them for sale as digital assets.&nbsp;



Amin succeeded in selling her first NFT in March 2021. One of her most significant artworks was &#8220;They Wanted Camels, I Gave Them Camels&#8221; collection, which includes a set of digital paintings embedded with the skull of a camel, as a symbol of the animal of the Gulf region.

Now, she sold about 25 NFTs with prices ranging from $700 to $900 for each NFT. Earlier, she announced donating 50% of her sales of NFTs to the Give fundraising group.&nbsp;



Now, she is working on organizing and sponsoring the first IRL NFT exhibition in Kuwait, under the title WAGMI.&nbsp;



In 2021, she cooperated with several platforms which are specialized in cryptocurrency trading, the latest of which was UPYO, which is the first platform for buying, selling, and trading non-fungible tokens in the Arab world.



In light of her great success, Amin advises artists to shift to NFTs as they will be a main part of any artist&#8217;s journey in the future.&nbsp;

Shurooq Amin: How Did Kuwaiti Inspiring Figure Enter NFT World?

The Lebanese art scene witnessed the shift of a large number of artists toward non-fungible tokens (NFTs) over the past months. With the big echo caused by the NFTs over the past period, several Lebanese artists began to realize the importance of showcasing their artworks as NFTs.&nbsp;



Among these artists was the renowned Lebanese visual artist Adra Kandil.



Who Is Adra Kandil?&nbsp;



Kandil, a Lebanese visual artist, was born in 1993. She received her high school diploma from the American Community School in Beirut in 2011 and graduated from IED Barcelona with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in creative advertising and branding in 2017.

Over the past months, the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) succeeded in attracting leading figures in the Arab world. One of these figures is Salwa Radwi of Saudi Arabia.&nbsp;



Who Is Salwa Radwi?&nbsp;



Radwi, 26, is one of the most famous entrepreneurs in Saudi Arabia in the field of NFTs. She was the youngest Saudi artist whose photographs are displayed in the British Museum. She participated in this museum in 2012 when she was sixteen years old.
